Swannanoa, NC is located in eastern Buncombe County in the lush Swannanoa River valley which lies between downtown Asheville and the picturesque village of Black Mountain. Named for the Swannanoa River that flows from Black Mountain to Asheville. Swannanoa has a great small-town feel and is less than 15 minutes from downtown Asheville and the Blue Ridge Parkway. It is home to Warren Wilson College; a private liberal arts college recently named the “Top Green College of the South.” Surrounded by the Blue Ridge Mountains, Swannanoa has several hiking and adventure options for the outdoor enthusiast.
